Roborock’s Saros 10R, Saros 20, and Qrevo S5V all combine vacuuming, rotating mops, mapping, and a dock that automates several dirty jobs. That does not make them interchangeable. Saros 10R is built around a very low body and StarSight sensing. Saros 20 adds a newer lifting-chassis concept and a much larger manufacturer suction figure. Qrevo S5V focuses on the familiar Qrevo recipe: LiDAR mapping, an extending mop, anti-tangle brushes, and a station that empties dust and services the mop system.
BestSift has not hands-on tested these robots. This comparison interprets current manufacturer documentation and turns it into checks a household can perform before ordering. Treat performance numbers as controlled manufacturer claims, not a guarantee for a particular carpet, floor finish, pet-hair load, or clutter pattern.

Pa figures are not a standardized whole-floor cleaning score. Air path, brush contact, roller geometry, carpet pile, navigation, and the number of complete passes affect pickup. A 36,000Pa label is useful for identifying the Saros 20’s positioning, but it does not prove proportional real-room improvement over the other two.
Choose by the floor plan first
Create a rough map of the actual obstacles. Measure the lowest sofa, bed frame, cabinet toe kick, and radiator cover the robot should enter. Record transitions between tile, wood, rugs, and carpet. Note thresholds, floor vents, mirrored walls, stairs, loose cables, pet bowls, and furniture with a narrow U-shaped base.
The Saros 10R’s 3.14-inch body is meaningful only when that difference unlocks useful floor area. Leave clearance for uneven floors and soft upholstery; a gap equal to the catalog height is not adequate margin. Its StarSight system avoids a protruding top LiDAR turret, but the RGB component also creates a privacy decision. Review app permissions, camera features, account security, update support, and whether remote viewing can be disabled.
Saros 20 is the layout-problem option. Roborock highlights AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0 for transitions and mixed surfaces. That may be valuable in a home with thick rugs or raised boundaries, but measure the obstacle and compare it with the current manual’s supported limits. No lifting mechanism makes stairs, tall tracks, loose fringe, or unstable objects safe.
Qrevo S5V is the simpler reference when the rooms are comparatively open and the goal is systematic LiDAR cleaning plus an extending edge mop. Its 10mm mop lift deserves special attention on medium- or high-pile carpet. If wet pads could touch fibers, define no-mop zones or remove the pads rather than assuming the lift is sufficient.
Saros 10R: lowest access and camera-aware navigation
The Saros 10R fits a household that has measured low furniture and will actually gain coverage from a slim body. Roborock pairs that shape with StarSight 2.0, dual anti-tangle hardware, an extendable side brush, edge-reaching mopping, and an adapting chassis. This is a system for difficult geometry, not merely a high suction label.
Consider the sensing tradeoff. A camera and structured-light system can classify more household objects than basic LiDAR alone, yet successful avoidance still depends on lighting, object size, color, position, and current software. Pick up charging cables, socks, pet waste, and fragile toys before every scheduled run. Object avoidance reduces interventions; it is not permission to run a completely unprepared floor.
Skip the 10R if the robot never needs its low clearance, an onboard RGB camera conflicts with household policy, or the dock cannot be placed with manufacturer clearance. A cheaper layout-compatible robot may deliver the same practical coverage when the floor is open and routinely tidied.
Saros 20: threshold and mixed-floor emphasis
Saros 20 is the strongest candidate when transitions are the central problem. Its advertised 36,000Pa suction, StarSight 2.0 system, dual anti-tangle design, and lifting chassis place it above a basic Qrevo workflow. Households with several rug types should still test the purchase logic on paper: list rug pile, fringe, dark borders, and whether mops must detach or merely lift.
More mechanical movement also means more areas to inspect. Hair, grit, and sticky residue can collect around wheels, brush bearings, mop mounts, and chassis joints. Follow the official cleaning intervals, remove power before maintenance where directed, and never lubricate parts unless the manual specifies the product and location.
Choose Saros 20 for genuinely complex transitions and a willingness to maintain premium hardware. Do not choose it solely because the Pa number is largest. For an uncluttered single-level hard floor, navigation consistency and mop upkeep may matter more than maximum mode.
Qrevo S5V: the core automated workflow
Qrevo S5V provides the most conventional decision here. Roborock lists 12,000Pa suction, DuoDivide and FlexiArm anti-tangle components, an extending edge mop, dual spinning pads, mop lift, reactive obstacle avoidance, and a station that empties the bin, washes and dries pads, refills water, and manages routine dock work.
It suits buyers who want less daily contact with dust and wet pads but do not need the slimmest robot or newest lifting chassis. Its LiDAR turret can be a clearance constraint, so measure carefully. Reactive obstacle avoidance should also be treated as assistance, not comprehensive recognition. Clear small hazards before an unattended cycle.
The S5V is less suitable when low furniture is the main uncleaned area, transitions exceed documented ability, or thick carpet requires greater mop separation. In those cases, paying for the Saros hardware may solve a specific limitation rather than simply add features.
Dock placement and water maintenance
A multifunction dock relocates work; it does not eliminate it. The station needs a level, hard surface, a grounded outlet, ventilation, and the clear approach distance in the manual. Confirm the dock’s complete depth with ramp and opened lids. Check that clean and dirty tanks can be lifted without hitting a shelf.
Empty dirty water promptly, rinse tanks, wipe seals, clean the wash tray, remove hair from rollers, and let components dry as directed. Warm water and heated drying can reduce residue, but they do not sterilize a neglected system. Use only approved cleaning solution and dilution. Foaming household detergent can damage pumps or leave a slippery film.
Bagged auto-emptying creates recurring purchases. Price is variable, so compare the part numbers and local availability of dust bags, filters, side brushes, main brushes, mop pads, and cleaning solution rather than publishing a temporary dollar estimate. Also check whether accessories differ among Saros and Qrevo families.
Carpet, pets, and obstacle limits
For pets, anti-tangle branding does not mean zero inspection. Long hair can migrate to roller ends, axles, side brushes, and wheels. Check these areas weekly at first, then adjust the interval based on actual accumulation. Keep animals away from scheduled runs until their behavior is predictable, and never rely on recognition to avoid pet waste.
For carpet, verify whether the selected mode lifts pads, avoids carpet, vacuums it first, or returns to the dock to remove pads. Use no-mop zones where clearance is marginal. Secure tassels and lightweight rugs. Dark patterns, reflective legs, direct sunlight, and tight chair bases can challenge sensors on any model.
App, Wi-Fi, and privacy checklist
All three derive substantial value from maps, room controls, schedules, firmware, and app settings. Confirm supported Wi-Fi bands, phone operating-system requirements, household account sharing, and whether essential cleaning can start from physical buttons during an Internet outage. Use a unique password and enable stronger account protection when offered.
Review saved maps before enabling remote schedules. Exclude rooms that contain cables or changing hazards. Install updates from the official app, and reset the robot before resale. If cameras are unacceptable in sensitive rooms, Saros sensing should be evaluated as a policy issue before purchase, not hidden after setup.
Final fit check
Choose Saros 10R when measured furniture clearance is unusually low and StarSight’s camera-assisted sensing is acceptable. Choose Saros 20 when thresholds, mixed surfaces, and premium chassis adaptation are the reason for upgrading. Choose Qrevo S5V when a conventional LiDAR layout can reach the important areas and automated mop/dust maintenance is the main goal.
Before checkout, measure the robot route and dock footprint, verify carpet strategy, download the current manual, locate replacement consumables, and decide how often someone will service the wet system. Those facts will affect long-term usefulness more than the largest suction claim.
