Review a delivery before you accept it

Build the checklist from the offer

Pull up the agreed brief and offer. Convert each deliverable into a check you can perform. “Website delivered” is too broad; “the contact form reaches the business inbox and shows a confirmation” is testable.

Distinguish acceptance of commissioned work from future business results. A designer may deliver a logo without guaranteeing sales. A writer cannot control search rankings. Review the commitments actually made.

Understand the review window

As checked on September 9, 2026, Fiverr’s guidance describes a three-day review period for ordinary digital deliveries, with automatic completion if no action is taken. It provides controls to accept, request revisions, or extend review; shipping orders have different timing.

Check the current order page and official guidance for your transaction. A casual message does not replace the appropriate review action. Arrange a reviewer before delivery so an absence does not consume the available time.

Open the real files

Inspect deliverables in the software or environment where they will be used. Previews may hide missing layers, a broken font, an incorrect resolution, or inaccessible accounts.

• Design: spelling, backgrounds, formats, and intended display size.
• Writing: facts, approved sources, links, and units.
• Website: the main visitor journey on phone and desktop.
• Video or audio: every promised version, from start to finish.
• Handover: required source files and instructions.

Do not upload sensitive work to unfamiliar checking services simply because they promise automated quality scores. Use the tools and access arrangements you trust.

Classify issues before requesting changes

Group issues into a missing agreed requirement, a revision within scope, or newly requested work. This keeps discussion factual.

An illustrative note is: “At 00:18, the caption spells our product name incorrectly; please use section 2 of the brief.” “Please add a second presenter and a new ending” is a different request. Describe these separately.

Prioritize blockers and group smaller comments into one list. Use page references, annotated screenshots, or timestamps. Explain the problem and desired outcome without prescribing unnecessary implementation details.

If a delivery meets the brief but your preference changed, acknowledge that change. Discuss the additional scope rather than disguising it as a defect. Conversely, do not accept a missing required file solely because the visual preview looks good.

Confirm the revised version

Recheck corrected areas and related outputs. A revised video may need captions updated too. A fixed heading may remain incorrect in a mobile layout or downloadable document.

Keep feedback tied to a version. Name the file reviewed and identify the final version. Avoid several reviewers sending contradictory comments separately. Your internal approver should reconcile those opinions before the freelancer starts another round.

Complete the handover

Confirm agreed editable files, exports, instructions, and permissions. Save them in business-controlled storage and record ownership of continuing subscriptions. Check that a colleague can find the final deliverables without searching through the whole conversation.

Use the review-extension option when you need time to inspect existing work, and the revision workflow when changes are required. For disputes, consult the current Fiverr support process rather than assuming a refund or cancellation is guaranteed. A clear acceptance process makes the next action evident while the work is under review.
